    Local Sunroom Builders

    Sunrooms built for Clarksville homes

Clarksville and the River Hill area of western Howard County have large lots and a lot of full outdoor living builds. We design and build three-season rooms, insulated four-season rooms, and screen rooms here, often as one piece of a project that also includes a deck and a pergola. Our own crews build all of it, and we file the Howard County permit.

    Planning a sunroom in Clarksville

When a sunroom, deck, and pergola are designed together, the roof tie-in, the framing, and the electrical are planned once instead of retrofitted later. That usually produces a better result and fewer compromises. Large lots give us room to size the sunroom for how it will actually be used, whether that is a family dining space or a quiet reading room. We review orientation and the existing roofline, then recommend the right Sunspace system and price it clearly.

    Permits and Inspections

    Howard County sunroom permits

Howard County permits go through the Department of Inspections, Licenses and Permits, and structures attached to a home need a building permit. In Columbia we file for Columbia Association architectural review alongside the county permit. Howard County is landlocked, so there is no Chesapeake Critical Area review here, though Ellicott City's historic Main Street area carries preservation review.

    One company, start to finish

It helps to know who does what. A sunroom dealer sells the enclosure. A sunroom installer assembles it. We are the contractor, which means we are responsible for the footing, the structure, the roof tie-in, the permits, the electrical, and the enclosure itself.

Our own crews build the whole room, so one company answers for every part of it, from the first conversation to the final inspection.

    Questions

    Sunroom questions from Clarksville homeowners

Can you build a sunroom, deck, and pergola together?
Yes. Many Clarksville projects combine all three. Designing them together means the structure, roof tie-in, and electrical are planned once, which usually gives a better result.
How much does a sunroom cost in Clarksville?
Most sunroom additions we build cost about $38,000 to $120,000 depending on the model and size. A screen room runs about $12,000 to $35,000, and enclosing an existing porch runs about $22,000 to $68,000. You get a price bracket on the first phone call and a final written number after the site visit.
Do you handle the Howard County permit?
Yes. Every sunroom we build is permitted and inspected. We prepare the plans, submit them, meet the inspector, and handle HOA or architectural review where it applies.
    Which sunroom is most popular?
The Sunspace Model 200 WeatherMaster. Its vinyl windows open up to 75 percent for the breeze and close tight against weather and bugs, which makes it a comfortable three-season room. For year-round use, the insulated Model 400 is the four-season option.
Do sunrooms connect to my home's heating and cooling?
No. We give sunrooms their own heating and cooling, such as a ductless mini-split, rather than tying into your home's system, and we coordinate the electrical it needs.
